If The Playstation 3 Had a Kid With The Xbox 360

If the PS3 had a kid with the Xbox 360, their child would be a controller. The controller will have the 360's pad layout with the functionality of the Playstation 3.

Many people that use either controllers tend to like the 360's controller better. I've even heard people saying they refuse to get the PS3 simply because they can't stand the controller. It's hard for them to hold, or it's too small...etc. I personally don't have any problems using either controllers for the PS3 or 360. My hands are on the large side, yet, the PS3 controllers are more comfortable.

Finally the good folks over at Power A decided to do something about it and make a PS3 controller with the Xbox 360 stick layout. It's not yet available, but it's coming this Fall.

I love my Playstation 3. It's a great home entertainment system where I watch my Blu-Ray movies and play my video games. I have the original launch PS3 that plays PS2 games, and then I got another PS3 when they introduced the slim models. The PS3 slim is mostly used for entertainment though, with playing movies the most common function, then streaming, then picture slideshows, and then with the occasional check the internet really quick use. I have the Xbox 360 also, but it's a noisy thing, and wouldn't use it other than a gaming system.

We've been able to get the white PS3 controller here in America, but for some stupid reason, Sony in their infinite illogical thought process never released a white PS3 slim. Until now. Well, at least on their home country Japan. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we get it here in the US. If they don't release it here in the US, then there goes another chance to sell something we want in the US. Seriously, who the hell is in charge for the Playstation marketing? Idiots!

Microsoft just flipped its bevel-edged, cream-colored Xbox 360 to piano black, and now Sony's shifting its matte-sable slimline PS3 into the ivory zone.

Sony says it'll launch a 160GB as well as a 320GB PS3, but the company's only offering the new white finish if you buy the 160GB model for 29,980 yen ($342). An alternative 320GB model will be available for 34,980 yen ($399) in the traditional matte black only. The new models will replace the current 120GB and 250GB versions.

You'll have to wait if you're in the US, but if you're lucky enough to reside in the Land of the Rising Sun, you can get your hands on Sony's new snow-white PS3 later this month (July 29). Sony won't say when--or if--the new model would show up internationally, vaguely referencing "market demand" as the determining factor.

The new white version will ship with a color-matched DualShock 3 controller and console stand. It still won't include an HDMI cable, though you can pick up a six-footer for between $5 and $10 online. It isn't clear (yet) if anything's new under the hood, in terms of chipset revisions, power consumption, or thermal management.

How do both systems stack up to Microsoft's Xbox 360? Pricing's a guess, since converting yen to dollars can be misleading. If Sony brought the 160GB out here for $342, they'd be selling at near the current $350 250GB model's price point. Chances are they'd either sell it for $300, replacing the 120GB model, or slap a "color tax" price tag on the white version.

If they offered a 320GB version for the current 250GB model's $350 price tag, they'd be about the same price as Microsoft's new Xbox 360 ($383 in my rough gaming-only comparison) with a 70GB edge.

Assassin's Creed 2 Videogame on Sale $23.54

Videogames aren't just for kids anymore. Some of my friends still play videogames and they are in their 30's and 40's. So when Dad wants a little time to get away from the daily madness and immerse himself in some game time, what better way to play a fun game and not break the bank. Here's a pretty good game deal I ran across. It's Walmart's online price. I'm not personally a big fan of walking into a Walmart and have to deal with the crowds, so buying this online is great. I haven't seen the game this low before so it's an excellent deal and definitely a Deal Alert if you don't already have the game.

I enjoy open world games where you aren't doing going to point A to do something, then move to point B and finish the task, then move to point C. Open world settings allow you to do non-linear tasks and goals, so it gives you a little more freedom to move and explore and tackle challenges on your own time. I am trying to relax afterall and that's the reason I'm playing, so an open world environment allows some virtual freedom.
